Seeing the Twelve Apostles at sunset is a perfect vantage point to one of nature’s best performances — oranges, pinks and deep purples washing over the cliffs. It’s also when the numbers drop, the surf rolls in steady, and the coastline feels properly ancient.

You’ll find the town of Port Campbell about roughly 230 kilometres from Melbourne. Most people tackle it as part of a Great Ocean Road trip — a strip of highway that clings to cliffs, curves through rainforest and passes open farmland before meeting the ocean. The journey is the experience.
